"Got My New Shoes On"

Ofcourse we have to put another post about Jaiden on our blog just because he's so cute. Here is Jaiden trying out his first pair of shoes. He loves wearing them so he can go walking around outside (with his mom or dad's help).

He had to step away from the camera for a while so he could go chase some bugs.

Jaidens 1st Birthday

Jaiden's first birthday was a blast! We had a lot of fun spoiling the little guy. Thanks to everyone who sent presents, Jaiden loved them all.

Here is the cake Marie made, isn't it awsome!

The party!

Jaiden enjoyed his cake a little too much.

Jaiden opening his presents, he is an expert now.

Jaiden posing for the Camera

On Saturday, we headed over to Sierra Vista to get some professional pictures of Jaiden for his upcoming first birthday. We had them done at Sears and I thought they turned out pretty good. I thought the photographer was a little inexperienced but she did okay. Here are some of my favorite shots that were taken, (Don't tell, but I stole them off the sears website)

We thought this one was so funny because it shows exactly what his personality is like.

Jaiden's big birthday bash is going to be on Saturday. I'm probably making a bigger deal out of than is really necessary considering he probably won't even know what's going on. I guess that's just my job as his mom though. So I will post all the fun of the party next week after we get some good pictures of the extravaganza.

Douglas Sunset

My favorite thing about Douglas is it's beautiful sunsets.

Weekend Trip To Blanding

We were able to make a short trip to Blanding over the holiday weekend. It was a long trip(9 hrs), but well worth it. We stayed with Sara and Joe in their guest room, which was very nice. We tried to surprise Marie's parents, but they found out from someone at work that knew we were coming, which was my fault as I didn't tell anyone we were surprising them, oh well. I spent the day on Friday working on the computers at the office, as they were in dire need with me being gone for two months. It was nice to see everyone at the office though. Marie and Jaiden spent the day with grandma Byrd. We ate dinner at Marie's parents and played a quick game of boccie ball, from which Marie and I came out victorious. Saturday morning we went yard saleing with Marie's parents, which was a lot of fun, we found some good stuff too! We spent the rest of the afternoon at Marie's parents relaxing. Marie and I went for a ride on our scooter while Jaiden took a nap, which was fun, I miss riding my little scooter. We spent the rest of the day with Sara and Joe. Sara was anxious to play with Jaiden, and they had a lot of fun. Sara is probably Jaiden's favorite person, he probably wouldn't even care if we just left him with her and took off, but I'm sure Sara would, well eventually. On Sunday we went to church at our old ward, and then went over to my grandparents house for dinner and to visit with them and my uncle Charles. They all seemed to be doing really well. We spent Monday morning with Sara and Joe and then headed for home that afternoon after saying our goodbye's.

Here are some pictures form our trip

Here is our bird Buddy, Grandma and Grandpa Byrd are taking care of him while we are in Douglas, because we can't have any pets.

Little Critters!

We have had a few uninvited guests grace our presence outside of our apartment this last week, well other than the usual (birds, bugs, bugs, and more bugs). We had a huge toad, and a tarantula. It is not uncommon to see toads, but this one was monstrous (I put a smaller toad next to it for comparison). From what I have heard tarantulas are pretty common this time of year, but this is the first one I have seen, well alive anyway.

Here is the tarantula:

Here is the toad:

I don't mind the toads, but the spiders creep me out, especially the big ones. Luckily these ones seem to be pretty slow, and don't really care if we are around. Sorry if this bored you, we get pretty bored here and get exited over little critters and such.
