Happy Mom's Day!!!

I want to say Happy Mother's Day to everyone including my mom, my mother-in-law, my sisters and sister-in-laws and all of my girlfriends, both mothers and future mothers. They are all so special to me. I have had a fun Mother's Day. I had a little bit of a cold so I didn't get to go to church with the rest of the family but it is almost gone now so that is good. My mom gave me a beautiful pot of flowers (mums) to plant at my new house when we move into it and Justin gave me a really good book, (I LOVE books) and of course I was given a lot of good stuff to eat. Justin even bought me an apple pie yesterday to have for desert tonight. He sure knows the way to make me a happy mom. The book that Justin gave me is called, "It's Okay to Take a Nap and Other Reassuring Truths for Mothers Everywhere". He said that he saw the title and knew that was the book for me. hee hee So I am halfway through it already and there is a chapter where the author gives a list of "Five Wonderful and Unexpected Surprises I Have Experienced in Motherhood so Far:" I loved the things that she wrote and I decided to write my own little list for a Mother's Day post. I will only do three though just to spare you from reading a REALLY long post. So here it is,

Three Wonderful and Unexpected Surprises
I Have Experienced in Motherhood So Far:

1. You can never get enough of looking into your newborns eyes.
I remember a night that I was up with Jaiden when he was just a few weeks old. He was having some bubbles that were making him uncomfortable and he just couldn't get back to sleep. Once I calmed him down, I sat down on the couch and rocked him for a little while. While I rocked him in the dark living room, I really couldn't see anything but his big dark eyes looking up at me and just being able to look at his eyes made me glad to be a mom.
2. You will quickly get over your fear of singing out loud.
I never did any kind of a solo before I was a mom. I don't think anybody had ever heard me sing in public. But now I sing almost every day just to keep things running smoothly in the house. I can proudly say that I will sing 5 rounds of "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" just to get us through a shopping trip if I need too.

3. Playing with your child lets you remember all of the fun things that you liked to do when you were little. I LOVE playing with Jaiden outside. I think it is because that was my favorite thing to do when I was little. Going and digging in Grandma and Grandpa's back yard is Jaiden's favorite thing to do and I am so glad that he can share the same back yard that I grew up in.

Hangin' out at Grandma's

The other day, Grandma was lying on the couch watching TV and Jaiden decided he needed some cuddles so he climbed up on the couch and snuggled right in.
