Beautiful Blossoms & Beautiful Girls

I had to take a picture of my parents fruit trees while they were blossoming because they are so beautiful. My parents have two plum trees, an apricot tree, a cherry tree, a peach tree, an apple tree, and three new trees that they put in just recently. I have no clue what they are but I'm sure they will be tasty too. I love seeing all of the blossoms at the start of spring.

Here is a picture that I found on my camera last week that I forgot I took. This is a picture of a few of the girls out of my Young Women's class at church back in Douglas. Unfortunately, I am a bad photographer and I had them stand right in front of a window. (So if you see these pics Kristin, sorry that I made your head shiny) I miss all of the girls from this class so much. I have some other pictures that show the whole group that I am waiting to have sent to my email from one of the girls, (Kristin..hint, hint) So hopefully someday I will be able to show off all of these beautiful girls that I loved teaching and hanging out with every Sunday.

Done With Rentals

Good news, we made an offer on a house and it was accepted! We are SO excited to buy our very own house. No more rentals. YEAH!!!! If everything goes as expected we will be able to move into the house on June 1. We will probably wait a few weeks after that so that we can do some painting before we move in. We are looking forward to actually having a home that we can call our own. Here are some pictures of the front and back of the house.

Our Crazy Night

So last night was just a little bit scary for us. We went to bed like every other night and we were sleeping really good. Upstairs, my dad was up probably until midnight and when he went to bed he could smell smoke. He waited for awhile and the smell was getting stronger the longer he waited. He realized it was probably coming from the basement where we are staying right now. We have a little wood pellet heater that keeps us nice and warm down there. Well, when my dad ran downstairs the whole basement was filled with smoke coming from the heater. He came and knocked on our bedroom door and was telling us to wake up. I think we all breathed too much smoke because we were in a really deep sleep and we were a little out of it when he came down. After he woke us up he went to check that Jaiden was okay and breathing okay. (He was fortunately) Turns out that one of the wood pellets had made its way down into the ashes still burning really well and it was making a lot of smoke so my dad took the tray outside and got rid of it. No big deal really just a lot of smoke from a little pellet but I am so grateful that he knew to come downstairs when he did. I don't know what would have happened if he hadn't. It was kind of weird because when my dad was waking us up I kind of flashed back a couple of years ago when this same house had a small fire in it and we were awoken by our neighbor ringing our doorbell and telling us to get out of the house. So when my dad came down to wake us up and then I smelled smoke, I automatically thought that the basement was on fire and it really freaked me out until I saw that it was just the smoke. I'm glad that's all that it was.

Update

I decided to write a little update on how we are doing, as we have been slacking a little in the blogging department. Work is going really well, I am really enjoying being back to normal life. We are really enjoying being back close to family, though we miss the friends we made while in Arizona. We are in the process of buying a house, well hopefully if everything works out that is. Jaiden is doing really well, he loves his Grandma and Grandpa Byrd, and Fritz their dog. He loves to follow grandpa around the house to see what he's doing. Marie has been busy filling out loan applications and chasing Jaiden around. Marie has also been busy planning Sara's baby shower, which she is also really enjoying. It is finally warming up here, but it has been really windy, which isn't fun to drive the scooter to work in, but hopefully it will subside soon. I spent most of the day Saturday at my grandparents house with my uncle Charles running the tractor and doing some other things around the yard trying to keep it under control. We will hopefully find some time to keep up on the blog a little better, and hopefully we will get some new pictures up soon, when we get around to taking some that is.

Aw man!

It's cold again!!!! What's going on?! I was so excited for the warmer weather. I will say that I'm glad to be gone from the 85 degree weather that was down in Douglas but I'm being picky and I want it back in the 60's or 70's. Hopefully it will cooperate soon. It's pretty sad that all of my blogging is about the weather now, huh? :)

Two weeks

I can't believe it but we have now been in Blanding for two weeks. I said that I wouldn't be writing for a week or two so that we could get settled in here. Well, my two weeks are up and I think we are settled for now so I have no more excuses. Today is the first day that I actually feel like I can relax since about 3 or 4 weeks ago and I am loving it. The weather is beautiful today. It's almost 70 degrees with a very small breeze so it's perfect weather to just go outside and sit and breathe for a little while. Me and Jaiden went outside to play this morning. He was so excited because my parents have grass and trees and gravel and dirt and a dog and we didn't really have any of that at the apartments in Douglas. (well, actually, we had gravel but that's not exciting really.) Today was the first day that he could go outside since we have moved back because it has been really cold here. So to sum it all up, I am really feeling good about everything right now.

Sorry

Just wanted to do a quick apology, it will probably be a week or two until you see another post from us. We are just crazy busy with all of our getting settled here in Blanding and trying to find someplace to live and everything. (plus we don't have internet at the moment so that makes it a little difficult.)But we will be back on and blogging like a mad man in a little while. Our trip went very well on Monday. We got in around midnight and crashed at my parents house. The only complication that we ran into on the way to Blanding was a swarm of bees that our car took out. Our windshield was completely covered with bee guts. It wasn't a pretty sight. We are halfway through unpacking and looking forward to the end of it.
