In loving memory.....

"Believe in yourself. Believe in your capacity to do great and good and worthwhile things. Believe in the nature within you, the divine nature, that you are in very deed a son or daughter of the living God. There is something of divinity within you, something that stands high and tall and noble. Get above the dirt and the filth of the earth and walk on a higher plane with your heads up, believing in yourselves and in your capacity to act for good in the world and make a difference." -Pres. Gordon B. Hinckey

“This is my prayer for all of us—'Lord, increase our faith.' Increase our faith to bridge the chasms of uncertainty and doubt. . . . Grant us faith to look beyond the problems of the moment to the miracles of the future. . . . Give us faith to do what is right and let the consequence follow.” -Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley

A new look

We decided that the ugly templates that you can pick from on blogger just aren't good enough for us anymore, so we decided to make our own. Thanks to my web design skills and Marie's scrap booking skills we have this new look. Hope you like it! Oh and by the way we aren't quite finished with the header if it is looking a little bare, but it will have to do until we get a new family picture.

Our Little Man

YEAH!!!! Jaiden is finally on the run. Here is some video of the crazy kid doing what he loves the most, playing outside. We love having him walking everywhere. He is getting better and better everyday. I have another video of him walking the day after he learned how but we are still trying to get it in the right format so hopefully we can get it on because it is really cute.

Here it is ...

Well, I guess I will write out mine and Justin's little love story now. It all started when we were just little babies. (really it does, believe me:) ) Justin's family lived in Blanding until Justin was three, I think. Then they moved to California. While they were in Blanding Justin's parents and my parents lived in the same neighborhood and did things together occasionally. SO then when Justin was sixteen, they decided to move back to Blanding. When he first moved back, we went to church at the same time and he lived right down the street from me but I didn't really talk to him that much. I thought he was cute but I wasn't the type to just start talking to some guy that I didn't know. Of course he was the new guy in school so all of my friends were inviting him to things and hanging out with him. I didn't really think he would ever notice me since he had every other girl's attention. So one day, a couple of months before prom, I was called to the office at school and sitting on the office counter was a big bouquet of roses in a vase. I couldn't believe that I would ever get something like that. The card with it said that Justin wanted to go to Prom with me. I said yes, even though I really hadn't talked to him that much yet or anything. He had come over to my house with his family to have a barbecue with my family before but I didn't even talk to him then. So I started hanging out with him a lot after he asked me to prom. My excuse was that I should probably get to know him before I went on a big Prom date with him. Prom time came. For our date, we went hiking and four wheeling and then his mom made us a candle light dinner before the dance.(I will add a small note that there was supposed to be another couple eating with us but they couldn't make it so it was just the two of us. He wasn't just trying sweep me off my feet with a candle light dinner or anything. Maybe that was his secret motive though. hee hee) Anyway, I guess the rest is history. We continued to be friends after that, then began dating and three years later, we were married. When I went with him and his family to Disneyland, he proposed in Cinderella's castle. He almost wasn't able to do it how he wanted because I was in too much of a hurry to go meet his family somewhere and he had to practically drag me over to the castle so that he could propose. (We had a little old lady clap for us when he did it. It was really cute.)We were married 4 months after, July 21, 2005 in the Mount Timpanogas Temple in Utah.

Christmas time is here...

Well, since Jaiden and I both have a cold today and are staying home from church, I decided to post some pictures of our Christmas festivities. Here is a picture of the Lyman Christmas tree. Unfortunately, I forgot to get a picture of the one at the Byrd household.

This is one of the many nativity scenes that is up around the house.
On Christmas eve day, all the girls made gingerbread houses with the kids.(The men were out playing golf.) It was really fun!! Everyone was getting pretty fancy with their houses.
This is the one that Jaiden and I decorated. It is very hard to do windows on a gingerbread house when Jaiden keeps trying to steal the candy off the other parts of the house.
For Christmas eve, all of the kids did the nativity scene while Justin's dad read it from the Bible. Justin was one of the shepards in the back. Anyone that didn't get to dress up for one of the characters was an animal and was supposed to make the animal noises when they were told to. I was a sheep. It was a really great way to spend our Christmas eve.
I just wanted to point out that we did have the appropriate gifts to give to the Baby Jesus but for some reason we ended up using bananas and a microphone. Don't ask me how that happened.

Party!!

The weekend before Christmas, Justin's family decided to have a birthday party for everyone that had a birthday in December and January. There are five of us. It was really fun. Barbara (Justin's mom) did a separate birthday desert for each of us and we all blew out our candles together. My desert was cheesecake of course. This is a picture of all of us together right before we opened our presents. I had other pictures but they all turned out blurry.
